North American Nationals (NAN)

Information for First Time NAN Showers from the Registrar 3/22/14

Good day all,

This post is geared towards those that plan to attend NAN for the first time.

First off, WELCOME!

You will see me post PSA's from time to time and this is one of them.

NAN - North American Nationals

This is where all the 1st's and 2nd's from all the Member Shows of the previous 4 years come to compete.

The first thing I would like to point out is that NAN is NOT like your typical Member Show. The pace is fast.

The show hall will open at 7am with the first rings being called at 8am.

When a class is called, the ring will only be open for 5 minutes. No exceptions. YES, we do know who all is to be in each class, however we will NOT be hunting you down when we discover you're not in the class. Again, this is NOT a Member Show. The onus will be upon you to pay attention to the classes being called. The reason we do NOT wait is that there will be a lot of classes. Day 1 alone we'll be there until after 7pm. My first year at KY NAN, we were there until 11pm on Day 1.

Each entrant will be assigned a table, you will not get to pick which table you want.

You will be provided a badge. This badge will indicate which days you are allowed to enter the hall. You MUST wear this badge at all times and you MUST have your badge to enter the hall in the morning(s).

Each class will be judged by 3 judges. For each class, one of the 3 judges will be randomly selected as the tie-breaker judge. We only place up to the top 10 in each class. With smaller classes the number of placings will be smaller. For instance, if there are only 2 models in a class, only 1 will be awarded a top-10 rosette.

We do NOT break for lunch (or dinner). You'll need to work out your eatings ahead of time. There is a food court in the mall attached to the Hall. No idea what is there at this time. I will endeavor to find out and post when I know.
