NAMHSA - January 1-15, 2011 News

NAMHSA News for the period of January 1-15, 2011 based on the minutes compiled by Bobbi Devine, Recording Secretary.

JANUARY 2
--Bobbi Devine (Recording Secretary) submitted the December 16-31, 2010 minutes report. These were approved with one small correction.

--Jackie Arns-Rossi (President) requested that Pauline Entin (Public Relations) revise the draft announcement concerning the cancellation of the NAN 2011 Auction.

--Jackie Arns-Rossi inquired if recent financial reports have been posted to the website. Lynn Weber (Web Manager) responded that yes, they were posted on 12/7/10.

JANUARY 3
--Pat Coulter (R9 Representative) reported that the NAMHSA website was down. Lynn Weber posted that the website was down for a few hours, but is now back up.

--Carmen Robertson (Treasurer) asked Jackie Moore (R6 Representative) if the Region 6 raffle basket winner received the basket. Jackie responded that as of January 2, the winner had NOT received the basket.

--Pauline Entin posted the updated NAN 2011 Auction announcement draft for review. This was approved by Jackie Arns-Rossi.

JANUARY 4
--Carmen Robertson posted that she has emailed Lauren Wood (NAN 2010 Auction/Raffle Coordinator) and again requested that she mail the Region 6 raffle basket to the winner. Jackie Arns-Rossi asked if the basket was the only outstanding item from the Auction/Raffle, and if not, to get a full accounting of outstanding items so that it can all be addressed at once.

JANUARY 5
--Pauline Entin forwarded a message from a NAN 2010 raffle ticket buyer.

--Jackie Arns-Rossi posted that thank you cards had not been sent to 2010 Auction and Raffle donors.

JANUARY 6
--Silke Brockmoeller (Vice President) volunteered to write the thank you cards to the NAN 2010 Auction and Raffle donors.

--Marilou Mol (R8 Representative) forwarded a concern from a Merit Award applicant that she had not received the awards that she applied for in September.

--Jennie Kaech (Merit Award Coordinator) responded that she does have a backlog to October of Merit Award applications. However, the person who had inquired with Marilou had accidentally sent her applications to the incorrect zip code, which was the cause of the delay.

JANUARY 13
--Carra McClelland (R4 Representative) brought up a situation in which a listed showholder has not been in attendance at her shows. Another person has been the contact for the shows. Per NAMHSA bylaws, if the official showholder is not in attendance at a show, then the contact person becomes the showholder. Consequently, that person may not show in any division at the show.

One show to report for December, the rescheduled WACCO show, held December 11, 2010 in San Martin. Included with the show was a collection of toys for a local charity, pot luck lunch, and an ornament exchange. A great time was had by all, and Annette and I actually finished early enough to visit our live horses (boarded nearby).
