NAMHSA News for the period of January 16-31, 2012 based on the minutes compiled by Bobbi Devine, Recording Secretary.

*JANUARY 16*
--Silke Brockmoeller (President) posted the latest agenda:

Agenda for January

1) Wrap up PR post for ND list regarding 2011 NAN issue (Teresa Candelaria- Public Relations has posted final version) DONE

2) NAN Sponsorship Chair, need to advertise, applications can come to my attention (Teresa Candelaria- Public Relations posted) DONE

3) Ideas for alternative fundraising

4) Raise Judge pay for NAN 2012 and beyond

5) Head Ring Steward position, complete job description, pay and advertise

6) Work on Policy Document for Proxy Showing for Judges at NAN (North American Nationals)

*JANUARY 17*
--Silke Brockmoeller (President) started the discussion for alternative fundraising.

--Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) posted a rough draft solicitation for the Fundraising Coordinator position and invited review.

*JANUARY 18*
--Carmen Robertson (Treasurer) posted the 2011 Fourth Quarter Financial Report:

Total Income: $1,606.60
Total Expenses: -$4,504.36
Overall total: -$2,897.76

*JANUARY 20* --Bobbi Devine (Recording Secretary) posted the January 1-15, 2012 minutes report. These were approved same day by Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) and Silke Brockmoeller (President).

--Bobbi Devine (Recording Secretary) posted the ballot results from the Region 5 vote to remove Lyn Norbury as Region 5 representative:

41 possible votes
30 ballots returned

24 No votes (does NOT uphold the Board's vote to remove Lyn Norbury)
5 Yes votes (to uphold the Board's vote to remove Lyn Norbury)
1 abstention

*JANUARY 22*
--Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) posted that she learned who the owner of the Region 11 list is, and is working with her to get Terri Wright on the list as moderator, and potentially the Vice President ID as an owner.

--Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) forwarded an inquiry regarding a donor of a raffle item to NAN 2010. The donor is no longer able to complete her end of the deal, and inquired if she can reimburse the winner of the item for the full amount that she paid.

*JANUARY 23*
--Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) announced that the Vice President ID is now an owner on the Region 11 Yahoo list. She also said that she has contacted Daralyn Wallace regarding the Region 5 list and is awaiting a reply.

--Discussion is continuing regarding ideas for year-round fundraising.

--Tom Dean (R2) posted that he received the remaining 2010 auction piece from Lauren Wood's attorney. It arrived well-packaged and in good condition. He will contact the winning bidder to determine if she is still interested in completing the purchase.

--Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) also relayed that the signed copy of the settlement agreement for NAMHSA vs. Wood was received by NAMHSA's attorney today.

*JANUARY 25*
--Silke Brockmoeller (President) reminded the Board to tighten up the job description that Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) posted on 1/17 for the Fundraising Coordinator so that recruitment can get underway.

--Carmen Robertson (Treasurer) posted that she has received a check from Lauren Wood's attorney.

*JANUARY 26*
--Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) requested Teresa Candelaria (Public Relations) to post an announcement to all the lists regarding the settlement of the NAMHSA vs. Wood case. She requested at this time that all reps forward questions from the hobby public to her to answer. This is to ensure that all communications regarding the settlement and the case remain consistent and do not violate the terms of the settlement agreement.

*JANUARY 27*
--Carra McClelland (R4/NAN Co-Chair) posted the preliminary NAN 2012 Minimum Guaranteed Classlist (MGC) and a breed cross-reference list.

*JANUARY 28*
--Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) posted that the winner of the 2010 auction piece that was held up due to the NAMHSA vs. Wood case is no longer interested in purchasing the item. The donor of the item has offered to buy it back. Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) suggested offering it at the final price.

*JANUARY 29*
--Beth Lamm (Merit Award Coordinator) posted the January Merit Award winners.

*JANUARY 30*
--Teresa Buzzell (Vice President) announced that the statements from NAMHSA's attorney have been uploaded to the Lauren Wood folder in the files section. She also said that she received copies of all the signed documents for the settlement from the attorney.
