REGIONAL REPORTS

Tracy Eilers (R1)
Region 1 had a few really neat events in March! First was a small but MIGHTY china show held by me and Erin Corbett. It was amazing to see some pieces that rarely make it out to shows! Next we had a super cool swap meet and show in Camas, WA held by Barb Ness. It was so neat to see all of the stuff for sale. I think there really was something for everyone at that event! Finally we had the Spokane Spring Minis show held by Deb Talbott. The performance division there was unbelievable! Wow! Also, lots of amazing halter horses as well to round out the day.

Coming up next month we have NW Expo, a classic show for our Region that is celebrating 25 years in 2012! Congratulations to Traci on a sold-out show! It should be action packed!

Two shows to report for March, both inaugural presentations that were very well received and already in the works for next year.

March 17th was Achy Acres Mini Spring Fling hosted by Heather Visser in Galt, CA. Some truly excellent minis were shown in all divisions. Add in the chance to visit with friends, old and new, chocolate, and a tasty pot-luck lunch, and the day was complete.

March 25th was Over The Hump Live hosted by Donna Anderson in Pahrump, NV. With divisions for Breyers, Stones, Minis, Customs, ARs, and China, there was a class for everyone to enjoy. We also enjoyed being able to use the country club's grill (in the same building) for lunch. Anyone who missed these two new shows should definitely mark their calendars for next year.

Coming up:
The Fantastic Plastic Classic on April 14th
A Performance Show April 15th
Bay Area All Halter Custom Classic and China Show April 15th
All in San Martin, CA

Hello everyone! I hope it is warming up wherever you are. We're expected to have up to 10 inches of snow here this weekend (mid-April!) - but that's an anomaly.

Colorado had its first member show of the new season at the end of March - the appropriately named "Colorado Kick Off" show. This show was followed the following weekend by Little Guys Live in Colorado Springs. Next up in Colorado is High Plains Live on April 21.

Tucson saw the return of Jewel Heist Live on April 7-8. I saw some pictures from that show, and woo-eee, there were some awesome models on display. Next up for Arizona is an all-performance show on April 28th. There is also a non-member (not a NAN qualifier) show scheduled for Scottsdale on April 21, at the Doll House toy store. Unfortunately, we don't have any shows scheduled for New Mexico or Utah this spring. Our hobbyists in those states are road warriors! I encourage region members to email me with any NAMHSA related questions or concerns they may have.

For March Lone Star Live was hosted by Sue Stewart in Ft. Worth, TX. A fantastic 2 day show held on March, 10-11th. It was really good to see such a great turn out of familiar faces as well as new faces in the crowd. Must have been a record breaking miles traveled to come to a regional show by EL.

April will bring us Tornado Alley Live, the Land of OZ! which is also hosted by Jacklyn Catina in OKC, OK, on April 28th. Due to Jacklyn's health issue, Tornado Alley will be hosted by Sue Stewart as acting agent so the show can still go on. This will be Region 5's last chance to get those final pieces qualified for NAN 2012. A special thank you to everyone pitching in to see that this show is still going to happen. Sincere best wishes to Jackie for a speedy recovery from ALL of Region 5!!

Hello All!

There were two shows in Region 6 in March.

Carolina Gold Classic was held in Monroe, NC on March 10. This was a large, well-run, and super-competitive show! The show's "extras", such as the Novice Division, the fun class futurities, and the inaugural Performance Challenge, were all a huge hit. Carolina Gold Classic is definitely a don't-miss show in our region.

Hollow Horse Live was held in Cumming, GA on March 31. This was an all-OF specialty show which, by all accounts, was great fun!

There are no shows scheduled in the region for April; next up on the Region 6 calendar is South Florida Live on May 12 in Pompano Beach, FL.

Hi, all!

The weather has continued good overall, and March began to heat up with model shows!

March 17 was the date of the Great Lakes Congress No Frills show. It was completely sold out, and had excellent competition as always!

Then March 24 saw the Show for the Cure Live! Hosted by Jenna Nejman and her family, this show was celebrating its fifth year, and has raised almost $20,000 for cancer research over its run so far! It was an excellent show as always (It's been the runner-up Member Show of the Year twice I believe!), and it was a fun time as well!

There was only one show in March for R9, Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Queen Anne, MD. A perennial favorite, it was a packed and sold out hall once again. I'd just *love* to see some photos posted to the Facebook page! (hint, hint)

With April winding down, there are just TWO more shows left in the show year in our region. Time to start planning your NAN entries!

March was a quiet month in region 11, but that doesn't mean that we weren't preparing for shows! Sugar High live was in high gear (more updates to come with April's report) and far in the mountains, East Kootenay live is under preparation for May 5th! Good luck!
