Region 2 (Tom Dean)
One show to report for May, First Show of the New Season, hosted by Sharon (and Phil) Massouris in Anaheim, CA on the 21st. This was an all-Mini show with OF, Custom, and AR divisions. We arrived Friday and enjoyed socializing as we never seem to find the time on show day.

I enjoyed judging the Customs, everyone enjoyed the Pizza Lunch, and we all are already hoping for a repeat next year.

For June, hope to see many of you in Tucson at NAN.

There were no shows in the region in May. June brought us the BYO on June 4 which was only lightly attended, but still lots of fun as always. Of course most attention will be focused on NAN later in June and then Breyerfest in July. There will be an Indian Nations Live again this year, but it is late - July 30 and unfortunately will not be a NAN qualifier.

This will be my last report as our new Rep, Lyn Norbury, will be taking over after NAN. So good bye to the region, it was fun. Of course, you will still see me at as many shows as I can make.

Region 8 (Marilou Mol)
May was a fairly busy month in Region 8, in between heavy rain, severe storms, and record-breaking heat! Our hearts go out to the people of Joplin, Missouri, who suffered a destructive and deadly tornado in May.

In model show news, there were live shows held in Indiana, Michigan, and Missouri in May:

May 1 saw Michigan Halter Live, which was held by Thomas Bainbridge in conjunction with Michigan Model Madness on April 30. Both shows were held at the same location in Hastings, Michigan (which for some reason confuses my Garmin!), with Melissa Hart & Alicia Strayer-Mangan teaming up to hostess MMM. I was delighted to see the Michigan Model Madness show return to Michigan, with OF Plastic and China classes, excellent awards, and fun competition! Then on Sunday, Tom hosted Michigan Halter Live, which featured artist resins and customs, and had HUGE classes with some amazing competition! The awards Tom, Melissa, and Alicia had put together were fabulous, including glazed tiles by Sarah Minkiewicz-Breunig and china boxes by Lynn Fraley! I was able to attend, and enjoyed both shows very much!

May 7 was the Stone Horses Country Fair, held annually on the weekend of Mayfest in Shipshewana, Indiana. This is the first time in 7 years that I missed going to this show, but heard it was an excellent show as always, with top prizes and tough competition!

American Heartland Live was held in Platte City, Missouri, on May 21st and 22nd, with hostess Melissa Addison. I hear this is a wonderful show, and I'm sure a wonderful time was had by all!

Things are pretty slow now in Region 8 until Breyerfest, which many Region 8 members attend. Show season starts up again in August, and we look forward to seeing many of you then!
