August saw 2 shows in the K.I.S.S. performance series, August 1st in Porterville, and August 29th in Mountain View. This was our 1st visit to Porterville, and can recommend the Holiday Inn Express, less than 10 minutes to the show, quiet, great air conditioning (not that it gets warm out there). The show had 9 entrants and saw some serious competition. Great pot-luck lunch with far too much food. For those who only show halter, this was equal to about 25 entrants in volume. Trucks and vans are almost as necessary as they are in the live horse world. The 29th in Mountain View was smaller, but just as competitive. As luck would have it, it was one of a very few days that it got into the 90s. This year's theme seems to be "Heat it Up" September has one show scheduled, the last of the K.I.S.S. performance series in Anaheim on the 26th. Stay tuned to see if the theme continues...

August was a slow month for shows this year with one each in Colorado and Arizona. First up was Red Devil Live in Golden held by Teresa Fedak on the 22nd. I was unable to attend (out of state at another show) but at least I did send out some proxy horses! From what I heard, the entrants were fewer than expected but the quality of entries still made classes not that easy to pin. On August 29, OSC: The Outlaw Stock Horse Classic was held in Tucson, AZ. I was not in attendance but from the reports I read, it sounds like after the small judging issue (lack of judges), everything else went picture perfect!

Only one show in August and it was the Sunflower Live Show Series #2 All Mini Show. It was held on August 22nd in Rose Hill, KS hosted by Amy Jones. I've heard reports from those who attended that this was a great little show. They will be having another Sunflower Series show in October so check it out.
We will have only one show for September too. That show will be Red River Live on September 19 & 20 in Gainesville, TX hosted by me, your regional rep, Carmen Robertson.
At least October looks to be promising for lots of shows!
Also, I will be stepping down as your regional representative in the coming month(s) to focus on my new job within NAMHSA. I will be replacing Barb Ness as treasurer for the next three years. Have no fear I will not be leaving our region without representation. I will continue as your rep until my replacement has been found. So you're not getting rid of me just yet! I have thoroughly enjoyed serving my region in the past few years and who knows I might just be back after my time as treasurer is over. I wish the new representative good luck whoever it will be.

Hello All!
There were no shows in Region 6 in August, and our Sept show has been postponed. The next show on the Region 6 calendar is the Southern Model Horse Convention, the first Saturday of October.
One of our members is spearheading a series of specialty shows for the Region, and we are all excited by the prospect!

August was time for recovery from all the festivities of Breyerfest here in region 7. Everyone is taking time to rest and reorganize their show strings before the next wave of fall shows start. The next shows coming up are not until October then we have two on the same day (October 10th). The two shows coming up next are the brand new Cookeville Classic live in Cookeville Tn and the All American Quarter Horse Congress show in Columbus, OH Both shows promise lots of fun and good competition!

Hi, all!
August arrived, cool and rainy most of the time. Not much hot summer weather this year, but things were beginning to heat up on the fall show season in Region 8! Great Lakes Congress held their first No Frills show after Breyerfest in Huntley, Illinois. The show was held on August 29, and featured performance, OF plastic, rare plastic, artist resin, custom, and non-plastic divisions. The show was tough, with lots of gorgeous models! More shows coming in the next couple of months. Have a great autumn!

August was a busy month in Region 10, with 2 Thruway Series shows - Dutch Treat Live in Clifton Park, NY and the Queen City Classic in Buffalo, NY. Baystate Live in Ludlow, MA was also held in August. Both Thruway Series shows were a sucess - with the proceeds from the shows going to help support Region 10 Regionals and donations made to a therapeutic riding center in Albany and the SPCA in Buffalo. Queen City had fewer entrants than usual, but the divisions were definately still competitive! I did not attend Baystate Live, but it looks like attendees had a great time with good competition. There are two shows scheduled in September - NorthEast Congress Live on Sept 12, and the next stop on the Thruway Series - Lilac City Live on Sept 26.

Region 11- Sandra Gibson
Region 11 had no shows to report this month. It was very quiet with only talk of shows of next year taking place.
