REGIONAL REPORTS

Region 1 (Tracy Eilers)

Region 1 had one show in August, Mid-Valley Classic hosted by Cheryl Wood in Albany, OR. The hall was well-lit, and we sure had our hands full as judges with large classlists. As predicted, we had some really amazing little horses to judge. I know my eyes were crossing at the end of the day! In September we are looking forward to Rose City Live and the Appaloosa Country All Breed Model Horse Show!

Region 2 (Tom Dean)

August saw two shows, K.I.S.S. Performance Challenge #2 in Porterville on the 7th, hosted by Jan Manning; and SoCal Showdown Series - Norco on the 28th and 29th hosted by Jacquie Fernandez. Porterville was a 'cool' 90 degrees this year and the show featured some 'hotly' contested classes. Did not attend Norco, but heard that the show was enjoyed by all.

September will see the 6th almost annual Mini Mayhem Live on the 18th, and Three Ring Circus on the 19th, both in San Martin. Also SoCal Showdown Series - Norco.

Region 3 (Teresa Buzzell)

August was the beginning of the late summer and fall show season for Region 3 this year. Colorado kicked off the season with two shows. On August 14th, we trekked to Boulder for the Redline Revival: Performance Edition held by Heather Roell/Teresa Fedak. Judge Tiffany Purdy came out for what was a very informative, hilarious day of ponies and props. Turn out was typical for performance around here - small but every table had an entrant on it. If anyone needs a performance judge for their next show, I heartily endorse Tiffany and my fellow showers will too! (As usual, thanks and props to Jennifer for being very prompt on the photography thing. I can find my camera but don't ask me the last time I took a photo on it!)

August 28th saw the return of this year's installment of Red Devil Live - Breyers, held by Teresa Fedak in Golden. It was great to see everyone, especially a few surprise entrants! There was some distraction provided by men in (FBI/police) uniforms next door but I'm sure everyone who got the free Clubs will put them to good use. :D

A shout out to Cheryl Wood for her Mid Valley Classic show, held in Albany, OR between these two shows. I had the chance to attend and enjoyed myself immensely and hope to be able to come back next year and show. Hopefully THAT visit will end better for me than this one.

NAN 2011 News: There's talk of some regional stuff for NAN on the Region 3 list. If you are NOT on the list, please do become a member (digest is easy and the list volume is traditionally low) and give us your input!

Region 8 (Marilou Mol)

Region 8 hosted two shows in August: Midwest Model Mania in Galesburg, Illinois, and the GLC No Frills Show in Huntley, Illinois.
Midwest Model Mania is my own show, and I want to thank the 28 showers, all who donated, and the excellent judges who attended. Thank you!

I was unable to attend the GLC No Frills Show, but heard that it was a fun time! I know it included a group gift to president Jamie Rott for her upcoming wedding! Congratulations, Jamie and Mike!

Have a great month...

******
Region 9 (Pat Coulter)

No shows in Region 9 to report for August.

******
Region 10 (Kate Cabot)

There were no shows offered in Region 10 this August, the region is gearing up for a busy fall though with 5 shows upcoming before the snow flies. Sadly Region X Regionals will not be one of them this November, it was canceled for 2010 and will be much missed. On the upside, the quantity and variety of fall shows this year is great, with offerings sure to be popular with showers of all levels and interests. The next show on the calendar is Empire State Live in Rochester, NY on September 25th. Hope to see you at some of the shows this fall!

******
Region 11 (Sandra Gibson)

August saw us having one show, Chinook Winds took place on August 14 & 15, 2010. We were pleased to have some new judges and first time showers. A few of our new judges were Sharin Engler, Kate MacKinnon, Kristy Wannop, Merlene Bruneau & assisting a few of the judges was Lisa Danis. These new judges acquitted themselves well and should be good judges for the future.
We also welcomed a new mascot for Chinook Winds Live. Kipcha! A 4 month old blue roan miniature horse who spent the Saturday meeting showers. Because of child labour laws she was given Sunday off. Also a big thank you to some of our other judges, Kim Carter, Tammy Turner & Amanda Greening.

No new shows are planned for the fall.
