NAMHSA - September 16-30, 2011 News

NAMHSA News for September 16-30, 2011 based on the minutes compiled by Bobbi Devine, Recording Secretary.

*SEPTEMBER 16*
--Silke Brockmoeller (PRES) announced that she was experiencing difficulty with her email, and that she coordinated privately with Teresa Buzzell (VP) to get the NAN Chair/Registrar stipend vote going.

--Stacy Faraci (R7) inquired on the possibility of the Board meeting for an hour per week during a live chat session to discuss issues.

--Silke Brockmoeller (PRES) solved her email problem, and asked that the poll be set up for the stipend vote. Poll was begun.

--Bobbi Devine (RS) submitted the September 1-15, 2011 minutes report. These were approved today by Silke Brockmoeller (PRES).

*SEPTEMBER 17*
--Teresa Buzzell (VP) posted the applications from the 3 people interested in the Merit Award Coordinator position. These are Beth Lamm, Marisa Hildebrandt, and Nancie Warga. Discussion began.

*SEPTEMBER 19*
--Pauline Entin (R3) forwarded an email from Nancie Warga that she is rescinding her application for Merit Award Coordinator.

--The following BOD-NAMHSA poll is now closed. Here are the final results:

--Silke Brockmoeller (PRES) requested that the solicitations for NAN Chair and Registrar be updated with the new stipend amounts and re-posted ASAP.

--A new poll was begun for the purpose of deciding on whether or not to hold an auction at NAN 2012.

--The following BOD-NAMHSA poll is now closed. Here are the final results:

*SEPTEMBER 24*
--Pauline Entin (R3) reminded the Board that the policy document needs to be updated with the new stipend information for NAN Chair and Registrar. Lynn Weber (WA) said she would update it.

--Pauline Entin (R3) stated that past Boards have voted on whether or not to release NAN bids to the public. The 2011 bids have not yet been made public. Does the Board need to vote to release them?

*SEPTEMBER 25*
--Silke Brockmoeller (PRES) requested Bobbi Devine (RS) to set up a poll for the purpose of voting for the new Merit Award Coordinator. Poll was begun.

--Pauline Entin (R3) motioned to release the 2011 NAN bid information to the public. Silke Brockmoeller (PRES) seconded the motion.

*SEPTEMBER 28*
--Silke Brockmoeller (PRES) urged the Board to vote in the current poll for the Merit Award Coordinator. She said that an updated agenda would follow by the next day. The next vote is for allowing the NAN 2011 bids to be made public.

--Teresa Buzzell (VP) posted that she had just mailed a large volume of recycled NAN cards to Gail and Jill (SMS). She encouraged all reps to collect unused NAN cards from their show holders and mail them back to the SMS's when they get a large stack (i.e. once a year).

--The following poll closed:

POLL QUESTION: Please choose the next Merit Award Coordinator.

The vote to select the next Merit Award Coordinator closed. Beth Lamm was chosen by majority vote of the Board.

*SEPTEMBER 29*
--Teresa Buzzell (VP) said that she would contact the Merit Award Coordinator candidates with the results of the vote. She will have Beth Lamm send the non-disclosure agreement to Silke Brockmoeller (PRES).

--Silke Brockmoeller (PRES) requested Bobbi Devine (RS) to set up a poll for the purpose of deciding whether or not to make the NAN 2011 bid proposals public. Poll was begun.
