REGIONAL REPORTS

Region 1 (Tracy Eilers)
This is my first report as new Rep for Region 1! I am grateful to have the opportunity to be an active part of NAMHSA on behalf of our region. We had two shows held here in the Pacific Northwest. Amy Peck hosted Calliope Mini Live in her spacious garage on November 21st. It's a snug fit, but entrants were cheerful and we saw many marvelous minis competing! We also had a wonderful ice cream cake for Erin Corbett's farewell. We will miss you here for your camaraderie and competition at shows! Sarah Tregay also hosted her Two in One Live Show on December 6th in Boise. I believe that is it until CeCe Osbourne's Ring in the New Year show up at Amy's place again on January 23rd! Hopefully we see some new models at the show that people got for the holidays!
Wishing a wonderful holiday season to everyone!

Region 2 (Tom Dean)
November saw one show in the region, Autumn Classic Mini in Mountain View, California on the 21st. This was a show for SM scale in OF Plastic, AR, and Custom. It was great to see some of these pieces that don't get shown much against the larger scales.
Next up are ORCO - OF Realistic Collectibility Only in San Jose, California on December 12th, and New Years Bash Model Horse Show in Ridgecrest, California on January 23-24, 2010.

Region 3 (Teresa Buzzell)
Greetings!
November was a rather quiet month for the region with only two shows being held. The first was in Utah - Utah's Dixie Downs Model Horse show in St. George. I was unable to attend and I don't recall seeing much about it so I can't say much about it!
The second was Redline Revival 2010 Live Show Series: Spooky Turkey, held by Heather Roell in Boulder, CO. (AKA Spooky Turkey) This a bit of a revival of the first show, back a few years ago but in a different location, half the show holder team and scaled down to only CM/AR (no ARs over mini size). We had CM only classes, CM mini only and CM workmanship along with AR halter - all double judged! The show hall is intimate (read: sorta small but cozy) so about a dozen people can fit with some table sharing occurring. Even though I only own three horses I could show, I doubled my show string with some proxy pieces that did better than my own! With little to pay attention to, I had a lot of gabbing with a side of showing. Heather plans on having about a show a month in her show series, with a championship show at the end of next year so there will be more to come in the future!
Upcoming events:
December: Walkin' in a Mini Winter Wonderland, Tucson. Held at the time of this report
January: nothing on the calendar, yet, other than recovering from December and wishing it was May! (Weather wise for me!)

Region 4 (Carra McClelland)
There were no shows in R4 in November, but we do have some exciting things coming in the new year, including a BRAND NEW show in North Dakota!
June 12, 2010: Rough Riders Live in Fargo, ND.
I wish everyone in the region a wonderful holiday season and a fantastic new year!

Region 5 (Carmen Robertson/Lori Batchelor)
We had had four shows for November.
First off was A Breyer Extravaganza in Arcola, TX on November 7th hosted by Tara Jurica/Arcola Feed. This marked a return of a show hosted by Arcola Feed. It's been several years since we've seen a show from them so maybe they'll be back next year with more classes and more fun.
Next we had the long running BayouLand Live in Lake Charles, LA on November 7-8 hosted by Kim Janes-Morgan. This was the 15th anniversary for this show! What a milestone! Congratulations for being the longest running show in Region 5 and one of the longest running shows for all the regions! Keep up the good work and working toward the 20th year anniversary.
November 14-15 was the first ever Red Dirt Roundup in Midwest City, OK hosted by Lori Batchelor and Chris Nandell. They did a bang up job their first time out and they have already started planning for next year for a bigger and better show!
Last but not least was the Mid Ark Model Horse Expo in Greenbriar, AR hosted by Tracy Rogalla. Another long running show for Arkansas and Region 5. A small show but with stiff competition we look forward to seeing it again next year.
For December we have one show scheduled. The Mid Kansas Live Show in Wichita, KS hosted by Gay Mahlandt on December 5th.
I would like to wish everyone Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
In closing I would like to officially welcome our new Region 5 Representative Lori Batchelor! Lori is from Oklahoma and will be finishing out my term as representative. Good luck Lori!

Region 6 (Jackie Moore)
Hello All!
There were two shows in Region 6 this November. The first was Peach State Live, held Nov 7 in Gainesville, GA. This was a very well-attended show. From what I hear, there was a bit of a problem with the show hall, but, from all reports, everyone had a great time!
The second show was Rockin' Redneck Roundup Live in Kissimmee, FL - an all OF Breyer and Hartland show - held Thanksgiving weekend. From all accounts, this was another well-attended show, and everyone seemed to love the low-key specialty show (and the food was great!). We are looking forward to the possibility of more specialty shows in the region.
South Florida Live, originally scheduled for December, has been postponed until May, so we are show-less for the remainder of the year!
Hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving, and a very Merry Christmas to all!

Region 8 (Marilou Mol)
Hi, all!
There were two shows held in Region 8 in November, and both were in Illinois.
November 7 saw a Great Lakes Congress No Frills show held in Huntley, Illinois. I was able to attend, and GLC always puts on a fun and competitive show.
November 14 was the Midwest Model Mania Live in Galesburg, Illinois. I am the hostess for that show, and I want to thank the exhibitors, judges, and my husband for a really enjoyable show!
As I write this, the holidays are approaching, so Happy Holidays to all! I am very thankful for this hobby and all of the wonderful people in it!

Region 9 (Pat Coulter)
November brought us a last hurrah before the holidays with 3 shows. On November 7th there were TWO shows (imagine that), Anchors Aweigh in MD and Ride for Pride 4-H Model Horse Show in PA. I was unfortunately unable to attend either show, but both received glowing reviews.
We ended the year in NJ with Trojan Horse Expo II on November 15th. We narrowly missed the monsoon like Nor'easter storm that pounded NJ the day before! This was a CM/AR/China halter show, so we were graced with some stunning entries, particularly in the "Breakables" arena. Great judging, and wonderful awards, including Chris Nandell cookies. We were also spoiled by Dara with a great lunch finished off by, mmmm, cheesecake!
That's it for R-9 until the first MAR Benefits in January, so Happy Holidays!

Region 10 (Valerie Parker)
November marked the end of the Region 10 showing season with Region 10 Regionals November 7-8. The show was a huge success, was well-attended with excellent competition. Some highlights from the show include introduction of new Top 5 awards (Dove chocolate bars - yum!), the Sat night pizza party, room sales, the introduction of Morgen Kilbourn's new resin "Fenwick", and the incredible raffle organized by Lauren. The show also had a large novice division, thanks to the attendance of a local 4-H group. Region 10 is now setting our sights on next year's show season.
