Maximilian's Bridle Revisited
This bridle is the culmination of two miniature braidwork artists: Susan Bensema Young and Heather Moreton Abounader.

Heather Moreton Abounader has crafted the Headstall from thread using a round braid and blue and white thread. The headstall also includes a hand made, real silver bit that has been coated to retard tarnishing. It is adjustable on both sides so that it should fit a wide array of models and performance situations.

Susan Bensema Young of Timaru Star II Model Tack, eleven-time NAN donor and famous miniature braider, has made the reins. These split reins are fashioned of blue and white miniature twisted horsehair (thread) and sport decorative braided buttons, buckle-on leather strap ends (so they're removable) and white horsehair tassels at the ends. The rein buttons are 9 Part 4 Bights with 2 rings of interweave, while the tassel buttons are 7 Part 6 Bight with 2 rings. The twisted-thread material is easy to position yet very sturdy. These reins are inspired by Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico's saddle set, recently sold during High Noon's auction.
